Throughout the trip, I had the opportunity to meet my relatives. It was heartwarming to realise that, despite the distance and time, we have managed to keep in contact. The warmth and hospitality I received from my relatives makes me understand the importance of maintaining these connections.

Visiting Kinmen allowed me to learn more about the history of the island. The hardships faced by his family (my grandfather) and the economic challenges in Kinmen during his time made it clear why he had to go abroad to earn money and send it back to support his loved ones.

The trip became even more meaningful when I got to interact with people from other countries, all seeking to connect with their roots. I am grateful for the friendships that I have forged on this trip whereby our bond wasn’t just about our shared search for our ancestors but also about appreciating each other’s cultures and histories. Moving forward, I hope to be able to maintain these friendships and continue learning more about the diverse backgrounds we come from. Family, history, and culture can unite us, no matter where we come from. This trip to Kinmen has been a journey of discovery—not only of my roots but also of the friendships that can be formed when people from all over the world come together for a common purpose.

           By understanding where we come from, we gain a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices of our ancestors that have helped shape a better future for us. This trip to Kinmen has not only connected me to my roots but has also inspired me to continue preserving and celebrating the story of our family for generations to come. Moving forward, I will make an effort to stay connected with my relatives in Kinmen to ensure that the family history is not forgotten.

在忙碌的旅程中，我有幸能与亲戚安排时间见面，甚至有机会回去参观了老家。 令我感到温馨的是，尽管有着距离的隔阂，我们依旧保持联系。 虽然那是我第一次与一些亲戚见面但我从他们那里感受到的家的温暖和热情的招待让我真正地明白了大家为何这么努力保持联系来维护这段宝贵的关系。 

参观金门让我更进一步了解这个岛屿的历史和我祖父家当时所面临的困境。金门的经济情况迫使他不得不出国赚钱并寄回家中支持他的亲人。 

此行我也遇见了从其他国家来寻根的乡亲们。有了与其他国家乡亲们接触的机会让这次旅行变得更加有意义。我很感激能在这次旅行中结交非常多的朋友同时我们也能认识并学会欣赏彼此的文化和历史。 除了希望友谊长久，我也希望可以继续接触及了解新文化。 这次金门之行是一段探索之旅——不仅是追溯我的根源，还发现了当来自世界各地的人们为了共同目标聚在一起时所能形成的友谊。 这强化了家庭、历史和文化可以团结我们，无论我们来自何方。 

 了解先辈的来时路，我对他们的牺牲更是心怀感激。若不是有他们之前的牺牲，怎会有今天的金门以及今天的我们。这次金门之行不仅让我从新认识我在金门的亲戚，还激励我将家族的故事传递下去。 展望未来，我会努力与金门的亲戚保持联系，以确保家族历史不会被遗忘。
