School of Life Series: A Dialogue with Ms. Wee Wei Ling
This afternoon’s School of Life Series at Sichuan Dou Hua Restaurant was an inspiring and meaningful gathering, bringing together heritage, reflection, and connection.
Ms. Wee Wei Ling shared her personal journey with warmth and wisdom — from growing up in a disciplined Kinmen family, to building a long career at UOB, to living by the belief that every step in life should have purpose. She reminded us that it is never too late to keep learning, growing, and trying new things.
Her reflections on lifelong learning, exercising regularly, and giving back to the next generation were deeply moving. From getting braces at 50 to skydiving at 70, her words captured a beautiful truth: age is just a number, and what matters most is the mindset with which we live.
Dr. Koh / 许振义 also shared thought-provoking insights through “金门十问”, encouraging everyone to reflect on identity, heritage, and the values that connect Kinmen people across generations.
Meanwhile, Xin Yao / 黄歆尧 spoke on “从宗缘到联结”, offering a thoughtful perspective on how family roots can grow into broader human connection, understanding, and shared belonging.
A special takeaway from the afternoon was this simple but powerful message:
Live well, heart well — 天下无难事。
When we stay curious, disciplined, and grateful, we can continue to build a meaningful life and leave something positive for others.
