I am Cornelius Lim, and I am a fifth generation Kinmenese Singaporean. My ancestors came from Jincheng Township. The trip to Kinmen was a very entertaining and educational one for me, as I enjoyed sightseeing the beautiful environment, while learning many new things from Taiwan as compared to Singapore.

I have a good experience visiting  ZhaiShan tunnel, where we visited and had to walk deep into the tunnel, it was served as a bunker/hiding spot for the Taiwanese combat transport ships to prevent them from China bombing. I learned that many soldiers lost their lives building the tunnel, while working in those dangerous environment. It is almost unimaginable today.

Lieyu Village had a very calming environment which made me feel very relaxed. The beautiful flowers, and the ocean view was very cinematic, I was very impressed by the scenery. I was also very surprised that China was so near that I can see China clearly from Lieyu. The experience allowed me to have a different perspective on the Taiwan situation. 

TaiWu Mountain left the most impression on me, it was also most entertaining part of the trip. We have to walk up the mountain slope, we can see Chinese poems carved in giant stones along the way. I also saw a stone tablet by my great great grandfather on the mountain, to commemorate the building of the Daoying Pargoda, that he and many other Kinmenses raised fund to rebuild in 1935-36. I felt so proud for my ancestor.

In conclusion, I thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Kinmen as it was my first time there. I would like to go back again to experience more things, and to learn more things about my heritage.

我是林隽皓，是第五代的新加坡金门人。我的祖先来自金门金城镇。这一次的旅途对我来说是非常有趣且富有教育意义的，因为除了能欣赏美丽的风景之外，我也学到了很多相较新加坡没有的新事物。

比如翟山坑道，它是一个军事基地，也是一个很好的体验，我们得走到坑道的深处。以前坑道作为台湾军舰停靠，隐藏的地方，避免来自中国军队的轰炸。我也学到很多军人因为帮忙建造坑道，在非常危险的环境下工作而牺牲了自己的生命。在现在和平的时期是很难想象的。

之后我们去了列屿，它的宁静让我感觉放松。它有很多漂亮的花朵和视觉辽阔的海景，让我留下美好的印象。从海边，我很惊讶的发现原来列屿离中国是那么的近。这让我对台湾有了跟以前不同的看法。

太武山是各景点中最令我难忘的，也是此次最有趣的地方。我们得从山脚徒步上山，路上可看到石头上刻满了古人的字。我在山上一处，发现一个石碑，原来是我的高祖父（爷爷的爷爷），在1936年建成倒影塔而立的，在1920年，金门因为地震，倒影塔倒塌了，高祖父与金门的同乡们一起筹钱把它给重建起来，我对我的祖先的事迹感到骄傲。

结尾，这是我第一次去金门，我非常喜欢这次的行程。我希望我能够再回去金门体验更多的事物，以便更能了解我的祖先的事迹。
